Today, we will look at WBCOOP EVENTS NUMBER 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20, who were the winners, what were the tournament structures and more. Due to a ticket restriction and my choice, I have played in two of the tournaments. I will discuss more about this later on.
WBCOOP EVENT NUMBER-16 TRIPLE STUD
260 players wanted to take place in this tournament, as well as Celina Lin Pokerstars Team Pro member.
Every 3 minutes the game type was changed and every 9 minutes the blinds were increased. So it looked like a very fast tournament if you were not familiar with this type of game.
Celina Lin, has not reached the money, she finished in 146th place. It took more than five hours for a tournament to conclude, players got used to see same opponents over and over (of course those who did not bust). So it was a very good chance to analyse your opponents, because you had to play with them for a long time.
These players finished in a TOP 4:
1st. Sinbad612 (Germany) - SCOOP 162$ Ticket
2nd. Das Ferzb (Belarus) - SCOOP 109$ Ticket
3rd. Rszunimagu (Belarus) - SCOOP 55$ Ticket
4th. Unik22 (Belarus) - SCOOP 55$ Ticket
WBCOOP EVENT NUMBER-17 HEADS-UP NLHE
This tournament had 546 entrants who were interested in playing Heads-Up poker. It was very interesting that no Pokerstars Pro players wanted to take a part in it. 1500 chips starting stack every round, only one elimination and you were gone. Blinds were increasing every 8 minutes, so you did not need to rush much.
I will start of by telling how I did in this tournament. I could not miss it, because I am always playing better in Heads-Up tournaments. The less people are on a table, the better I play, it has to do something with my people reading abilities.
When I started, I was one of those lucky players who had no opponent, so I waited for the first round to finish.
The second round I was playing against an opponent who was quite tough, it was obvious that he did not have a lot of experience, but it took me some time to eliminate him. Also, I was quite lucky, because in one of the hands I had A5 when my opponent had AJ, but I was lucky to catch a 5 and survive.
When proceeded to round 3, another surprise was waiting for me. My opponent was disconnected, I waited for a minute in case he had a short internet connection problem, then started collecting the blinds. In a minute or two he was back, I asked him what was the problem, but he did not respond and we continued playing. He was a better player than my previous opponent (much better) I needed to do my best, and use a completely different strategy than I have used with my previous opponent. After a long match, I was the one two win, we said bye to each other and then I proceeded to the next round.
Round 4, this opponent was nothing like any of my two previous opponents. He was using a very interesting smart-maniac strategy. I liked how we was putting a pressure on me, he was a very good player and knew what he was doing. Too bad that when I was a short stack, my AJ did not hold against KQ, my opponent caught a King, and I was eliminated only one round away from winning a SCOOP ticket.
I finished 84th, when 63 players received the tickets. Of course it was not a good feeling, but at least I did my best.
1st. JIenoHeCTB (Ukraine) - 215$ SCOOP Ticket
2nd. J.D. Daan (Ukraine) - 162$ SCOOP Ticket
3rd. jose743 (Colombia) - 55$ SCOOP Ticket
4th. SusharikSpy (Ukraine) - 55$ SCOOP Ticket
As we can see Ukrainians are doing very well in this year's WBCOOP series, best of luck to them and everyone else!
WBCOOP EVENT NUMBER-18 TURBO PLO
The tournament had 272 entrants, joined by Pokerstars Pro Bryan Huang (the one I eliminated in EVENT NUMBER-15).
3000 starting chips, 5 minutes blind interval, seemed like a fun, quick tournament. However, it was too quick for me, because I bust in 172th place, I was a 100th player to be eliminated. Not a terrible result, but I was pretty upset with the way I played, it was a long time since I have played Omaha, I used to play it way better this summer.
Just before I was eliminated, Bryan Huang was eliminated in a 175th place. Lithuanian player macijauskas who is from my home country finished 82th, he was already mentioned in my blog a while ago.
After a little more than 2 hours, what was not that long, the tournament was finished and these three players collected the biggest prizes:
1st. WesleyNoHand (Belgium) - 109$ SCOOP Ticket
2nd. asddde (Ukraine) - 55$ SCOOP Ticket
3rd. Schmitzer1 (Luxembourg) - 55$ SCOOP Ticket
Next tournament was WBCOOP EVENT NUMBER-19 PLHE [6-MAX]
292 entrants entered the tournament, and 15 minutes was the blind interval between every increase. No Pokerstars Pro player was interested to join in, so there was no possibility to win a 22$ SCOOP ticket bounty.
Some Lithuanians had pretty decent results in this tournament: honolulu.lt (81st), hansas16 (75th). macijauskas (12th).
But after more than 6 hours of play, these three players were the ones to appear in a TOP 3:
1st. Dart Serg (Russia) - 109$ SCOOP Ticket
2nd. KiraLasVegas (Russia) - 55$ SCOOP Ticket
3rd. beto1982 (Portugal) - 55$ SCOOP Ticket
Again Russians showing how unstoppable they are, but we will get to see the final Leaderboard at the end of WBCOOP and it will show the players and the countries that had the best results.
Last WBCOOP tournament we are going to review today is WBCOOP EVENT NUMBER-20 PLHE [TURBO]
374 players entered the tournament and once again no Pokerstars Pro members entered the tournament (cmon, bloggers don't bite ha ha). Some payers needed to adjust their strategy, because you could no longer just shove a big chip stack of yours and hope for the best. If you had a premium hand, you needed to make your opponents to raise you, so you could raise even more. 3,000 chips were the starting chip stacks, blinds were increasing every 5 minutes, so it was a quick and nice tournament. Once again, my previously mentioned Lithuanian macijauskas finished 12th, it shows what a good player he is.
After two and a half hours, the tournament was finished and here are the best 3 results:
1st. Rainmy (Venezuela) - 109$ SCOOP Ticket
2nd. Jack Wade (Germany) - 55$ SCOOP Ticket
3rd. 11Kenion89 (Bosnia and Herzegovina) - 55$ SCOOP Ticket
Congratulations to all the winners who also received a decent amount of the WBCOOP series Leaderboard points!
Tomorrow, we will review next tournaments.
Best of luck!
